THE MICHELIN STAR RESTAURANTS OF GIRONDE

Monday, 15 April 2019

The famous Michelin guide unveiled at the beginning of the year the list of starred restaurants. The Gironde has 15 starred establishments, eleven one-star restaurants (including two on the Arcachon Bay) and four two-stars. We propose you to discover the 4 restaurants with two stars of Gironde. An unique and exceptional opportunity to enjoy a different gastronomy for a memorable moment with your loved one or with family & friends.

La Grande Vigne (Martillac):only 50 km away from Villa La Tosca

Housed in a sumptuous orangery of the 18th century in Martillac near Bordeaux, the Grand'Vigne restaurant is a lush paradise: located on the edge of a lake, at the foot of the vineyards and in the heart of the incredible Hotel des Sources de Caudalie, enjoy a fabulous parenthesis. Chef Nicolas Masse works tirelessly to improve his recipes and delivers a gourmet cuisine mixing tastes to perfection. Through the seasons, he cooks local products. Thus, he reaped the benefits of his beautiful garden and those of local producers and breeders. In the manner of a winemaker, he seeks to express the essence of this exceptional terroir and its products: he assembles and composes to finally retain only the essential.

La Grande Maison de Bernard Magrez (Bordeaux): only 50 km away from Villa La Tosca

The Great House of Bernard Magrez is a creative concentrate of French gastronomic excellence, partnering since 2016 an ambassador of taste with a wine composer: Pierre Gagnaire and Bernard Magrez. Voted Best Michelin Star Chef in 2015 by his peers, the genius of Pierre Gagnaire is undeniable. For La Grande Maison by Bernard Magrez he created a modern map revisiting the treasures of the terroir. In the kitchen, his sidekick Breton chef Jean-Denis Le Bras performs his recipes with perfection. At a menu of rare quality, add the setting of an old mansion bordelais with cozy decor, as well as an inimitable wine list. This incorporates in particular the references of 4 grands crus held by Bernard Magrez in the region: Château Pape Clément (Graves), Château La Tour Carnet (Haut Médoc), Château Fombrauge (Saint-Emilion) and Clos Haut Peyraguey(Sauternes).

Hostellerie de Plaisance(Saint-Emilion): only 90km away from Villa La Tosca

In the heart of the charming town of Saint Emilion, just 45 minutes from Bordeaux, in the heart of the medieval city, a former stone monastery, houses a fabulous restaurant. The "Table de Plaisance" proposes a menu mixing the Breton origins of the chef, his southern experiences and the Aquitaine soil. After his predecessors of very big houses: Georges Blanc, Joël Robuchon and Yannick Alléno, the young chef of the "La Table de Plaisance" restaurant,Ronan Kervarrec impresses with the realization of his plates. Like works of art, they are composed with accuracy, passion, love, creativity and elegance. The work is meticulous and the result surprises your eyes as well as your palate. The crystal chandeliers and the magnificent view of the "Table de Plaisance" cellar elegantly decorate the restaurant's decor; they are suspended from ceiling “clouds”, reminding the summit of the City of Saint-Emilion.

Le Pressoir d’Argent – Gordon Ramsay (Bordeaux): only 50 km away from Villa La Tosca

The British chef Gordon Ramsay (born in Scotland), triple star in England, also performs in France, the Pressoir d'Argent, where he signs the menu, leaving his team to realize it. The house owes its name to the Christofle lobster press in solid silver which sits in the room: a rare piece, designed by Jacques Le Divellec, chef of the restaurant La Cuisine de la Mer in the 1980s, to extract the juices of the lobster in the dining room. With a deep respect for the authenticity of the products, the Chef gives pride of place to the regional products. But, as a composer of tastes, he does not hesitate to reveal the osmosis of products from across the Channel with regional flavors. At his side, Chef Gilad Peled breathes, immediately upon his arrival, a new cuisine, engulfed with aromas and delicacy.

And finally… the 2 one-star restaurants of the Arcachon Bay cannot be missed too:

Le Patio à Arcachon: only 35 km away from Villa La Tosca

Perfectly located five minutes from Arcachon center and fifty meters from the sea and the marina, in the brand-new district of Aiguillon, Thierry Renou welcomes and offers you creative cuisine and the instinct while respecting seasonal products.

The patio benefits from one of the few underground cellars on the Arcachon Bay. A cascade and greenery are the pleasure of the shaded terrace of the Patio.

Le Skiff Club à La Teste deBuch: only 35 Km away from Villa La Tosca

The Skiff Club is a cocoon, set in a pretty little dining room, decorated like a yacht club. The chef Stéphane Carrade offers a delicious cuisine of "progressive terroir", inspired by the Southwest,by making the best of beautiful products.
